How did you come to know Christ?
I grew up in a divorced situation with loving parents and a moderate commitment to practice Catholicism in Western NY. I can recall my first encounter with God around 12 years old.  It was a foundational seed that planted a reverence for an all-powerful and all-knowing God who can see all my sin. My parents planted many seeds as I watched my mom and stepfather come to Christ and persistently and faithfully ask me to attend their church. Many years later, the Lord would use a broken long-term relationship to bring me to a low point both emotionally and physically. As this relationship fractured, God began to redeem my life by bringing various witnesses and Pastors who challenged me to allow Christ to take control.  It was through the despair of a broken relationship, loneliness, and hopelessness that the acknowledgement of my sinful nature came to fruition and that dying to self occurred.  It was only then that the fullness of Christ was revealed and I met him personally (John 3:16).

Favorite Verses (most used):
2 Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."
Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."
Psalm 19:14, "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."

If you were stranded on a deserted island, which three books (besides the Bible) would you want with you?

  1. My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers
  2. Any encyclopedia since there would be lots of time to memorize facts
  3. Something funny like "The Far Side" (lots of deserted island humor)

Which Biblical character (apart from Christ) has impacted your life most?
Paul because once he came to know Christ personally as his Savior, his mission began and he never stopped until he was called Home.

What are you currently learning in your journey with God?
Patience and that our Lord is in control of and aware of EVERYTHING!

What is your favorite movie?
Nacho Libre

What do you enjoy most about Chapel of the Cross?
That the word of God and the truth of the gospel is preached with authority.

Anything else you would like to tell us about yourself?
I'm not obsessed with the Big 12 (like our pastors), but I do love sports.
