Adult Bible Studies

During a time when the world is pulling away from community and relationships, at Chapel we know we need to lean in toward relationships. As Christians, we are called upon to support and encourage each other and to grow in His love. Small group Bible studies allow us to do all of that and to hold each other accountable to His Word.

1 Peter: A Living Hope In Christ

Beginning mid-January, Chapel Women study groups will unite to study the Book of 1 Peter in this 9-session Bible Study. Peter, a man of faith and flaws and an eyewitness to the life of Christ, challenges us to look beyond our current circumstances to a future inheritance. In 1 Peter, he shares concerns about issues for the early believers and points us to humility and submission.

Each week's study contains five days of personal study, group discussion questions, and a page for taking notes from the optional video. The study will begin the week of January 25th and run through the end of March. If you have any questions, contact Kylie Gibbons at women@chapelcares.com.

Philippians: To Live Is Christ, To Die Is Gain

As we get started on a new year with revised expectations while searching for hope in the midst of uncertainty, it is a great time to be reminded of God's message to the Philippians through Paul. It's also critically important that we continue to seek God and His great purpose for your life in light of all circumstances. You may feel enslaved, but God has the answer.

The story begins in Philippi where Paul introduces three individuals that were all enslaved by the kind of things that we often choose over the gospel: Lydia, the Business Executive, The Little Slave Girl, and The Hard Working Jailer.

Their lives portray dysfunction and emptiness but are totally transformed by the Gospel. True joy and Christ's love begin to live within them, giving them a life of purpose. In fact, Paul himself was enslaved, and then by God's grace and mercy he could pen these popular and profound words: To Live is Christ and to Die is Gain. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Join Matt Chandler, Teaching Pastor of The Village Church in Dallas, TX, as he walks us through this most intimate of all Paul's letters and paints a beautiful picture of what it is to be a mature Christian.

Our study will be online in Zoom over 12 weeks, starting Tuesday, February 2nd at 7:00 PM via Zoom. There is no need to register, but please reach out to Derek Duncan, Pastor at derek@chapelcares.com, if you would like to acquire an electronic study guide.

We hope to see you gathering with us.
