We are about helping people follow Jesus.

Vision & Values

We accomplish this by ENGAGING with our neighbors,
GATHERING on Sunday mornings as a church family,
and GROWING in smaller groups.

Discipleship PAthway

Our prayer is that everyone at Chapel is growing in the knowledge of God, being
strengthened with all power according to his glorious might. We pray that God gives us great endurance and patience, as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom... with gratitude in our hearts. (Colossians 1:9-13, 3:15-17) While relying on the Holy Spirit’s power, we accomplish this purpose by encouraging everyone to walk down our Discipleship Pathway.

Wherever you are on your journey with God, you can find hope and salvation
through Jesus and a church home here at Chapel.

ENgage

We ENGAGE with our greater community by initiating and
building relationships with people that need to know and follow Jesus. This can be done in various informal personal settings, as well as through specific outreach events. Without initiating and building relationships with others, evangelism, growth, and life change will not occur.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. - Colossians 4:2-6

Gather

We GATHER and worship together on Sunday mornings as one church family.
This is the environment where we give generously of our time, treasure, and talent. We study scripture, learn to praise God, celebrate communion, and pray for the personal encouragement and courage to live a completely surrendered life in Jesus.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. - Hebrews 10:23-25

Grow

We GROW in our faith by being personally transformed by the Holy Spirit and
teach others to be disciples of Jesus. Meeting together is small groups is the most important practical step to achieve personal integrity and life change. In smaller groups, we are able to be vulnerable and be accepted. We deepen our relationships with God and with each other.

The things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. - 2 Timothy 2:2

Eldership

According to the Scriptures, the elders fill a multi-faceted role in the church, primarily guiding and protecting the body. They carry out this work along with the staff and ministry team leaders, who serve under the elders to carry out certain delegated functions.

Two key values we hold for elders are:
A plurality of elders ensures not one central leader, so that our church remains strong through collective wisdom and teamwork. Unity among elders ensures that we can move forward together. We select elders based on character, competency, capacity, and chemistry; being sure each one is aligned with our mission.

Biblical Foundation for Elders

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.”  - Acts 20:28

“To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder ... be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers – not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.”  - 1 Peter 5:1-3

“Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.”  - 1 Timothy 3:1-7
